Multistreaming Comparisons: Restream, Dacast and Castr Alternatives

How Multistream Platform differs from other services that send one live stream to several places, using only what each provider publishes.

These pages exist to help you choose, not to sell you one answer. Each comparison reads the competitor's own public pages on the date shown, quotes only what is stated there, and says when a page was inconsistent. We are not affiliated with any provider named, and the names belong to their owners. Information about Multistream Platform comes from our own pricing and features pages. Nothing here is a rating, a review or a performance claim.

How to choose

Start with what you need to do

You stream from your own encoder and want to be live on several platforms. A relay does this directly: you send one RTMP or SRT stream and it delivers copies, so your computer uploads one stream. See what is multistreaming and how to multistream with OBS Studio.

You want a browser studio with guests. Restream's own pages describe a browser-based studio; our comparison page notes that this is not something we describe for Multistream Platform.

You need hosting, a player or a paywall. Dacast and Castr describe these features on their own pages. Multistream Platform's focus is live relay, recording and scheduling.

Compare the units, not the plan names

Providers count different things: channels at once, concurrent streams, destinations per stream, data allowance, storage or hours. A plan with a bigger number in one unit is not necessarily better for you. Write down how many platforms you stream to at once, whether you need hosting, and which ingest protocol your encoder uses, then read the tables with that list in hand.

Check the technical fit

Whatever you choose, your upload speed decides what works. Use the bandwidth calculator and the bitrate recommender, and read RTMP vs SRT to choose a protocol. Our streaming glossary explains the terms used in the tables, and go live from a PC shows how each platform lets you start.

Try before you pay

Multistream Platform's free Starter plan costs $0 per month and supports up to 2 channels at once. Start on the pricing page, and test your own encoder setup before you decide.
