This page describes an example use case: an illustrative scenario written to show how a team could set up multistreaming. It is not a customer story, and it does not describe a real organization or real results.
A congregation holds a weekly service and wants members who cannot attend in person to watch live. Its members are spread across Facebook and YouTube, and the volunteer tech team runs sound, slides and cameras from a single computer in the booth. Running one stream to each platform from that computer would use too much CPU and upload bandwidth, so the team wants to send one stream and let a relay do the rest.
The booth computer sends a single RTMP or SRT stream from OBS Studio or vMix. The relay creates the copies for Facebook and YouTube.
Create the broadcast ahead of time so volunteers are not setting up destinations in the minutes before the service.
Cloud recording archives the broadcast so it can be downloaded and shared with people who missed it.
Unified multichat brings Facebook and YouTube comments into one window so a volunteer can welcome viewers without switching tabs.
Connect both accounts with OAuth, or paste the server URL and stream key for each destination.
Enter the ingest URL and stream key in OBS Studio or vMix, choose the closest edge location and run a short test before the service.
Start the stream from the booth. Both platforms receive it at the same time, and the recording is archived to the cloud.
A 90-minute weekly service adds up to roughly 6 hours of streaming in a four-week month. The free Starter plan allows up to 2 channels and 20 streaming hours a month at 720p and 30fps, which is enough to try Facebook plus YouTube. Creator ($19 per month billed monthly, or $15 per month billed annually) adds 1080p at 60fps, up to 5 channels, 50 hours and 5 hours of cloud storage. Professional adds up to 3 team seats if several volunteers need access.
Plan details are on the pricing page. Plan limits such as channels, hours and seats are the same ones listed there.
